Some of the cast and crew of Harry Potter have given their input on Evanna.

Percy Weasley (Chris Rankin)

In a recent interview with PotterCast, Chris Rankin (Percy Weasley) said: "I've met Evanna Lynch at the read through, and I can confirm that she's brilliant. She IS Luna Lovegood." Chris later said that Evanna was "just absolutely perfect" for Luna Lovegood, "I thought she was completely insane when I first met her."

Casting Director Fiona Weir

Publicist for the Harry Potter film, Vanessa Davis, said that Fiona Weir was taken with Evanna Lynch straightaway. "According to Fiona she made an instant impression." Fiona Weir concluded that there was one girl who just shone and that was Evanna. You can read the entire interview at Drogheda Independent.

JK Rowling

JK Rowling updated her diary on her official site and talked about meeting Evanna on the OotP set "...Also met, and had a long chat, with Evanna Lynch (Luna), about whom there is only one possible thing to say: perfect."

Evanna's Mother (Marguerite Lynch)

In an interview with Evanna's parents, Evanna's mom spoke about her obsession of Harry Potter: "She's a fanatic. You know, obsessed with the books ever since she discovered them... she has read each of them at least six or seven times, and I think that was stood for her when she went and queued up with the 15,000, because probably nobody who queued knew them quite as well as she did. And when she was taken into a room and asked to learn a script very quickly, it was no problem, she probably knew it already!"

[On if Luna is anything like Evanna] "Exactly like Evanna... she IS Luna Lovegood, that's the thing, yeah. She's very quirky in every sense and yeah, that's Luna."

"I must tell you something funny about Termonfeckin. When Evanna was younger, and, you know, obsessed with these books, she used to keep writing to JK Rowling and she actually got an answer after a while. And in her letter she had said to JK Rowling how much she loved the books and how much she would love to act in a Harry Potter movie, but she had said, apparently, that she lived in this sleepy little place called Termonfeckin, where nothing ever happened! And that she was, despairing, you know. And then when JK Rowling wrote back, she said, 'Don't be too hard on Termonfeckin!' She said, 'It does have a brilliant name! And I come from a very sleepy place.' And told her about it, and, you never know."

Emily Lynch (Sister)

[On what life has been like since Evanna got the part] "Today at school she had two bodyguards going around with her everywhere, and the gates were locked and televisions were looking in and she was being kept well under wraps."

Katie Leung

In an interview with Lizo for CBBC Newsround, Katie says that she's wants Evanna to enjoy the filming and not be nervous. "I'm just telling her to enjoy it. It's a once in a lifetime thing. She's just having such a great time."

Dan Radcliffe

Dan talks about, in an interview for the same purpose, Evanna's personality. "Evanna's lovely. Evanna's sort of -- not a million miles away from Luna herself."

In another interview, Dan talks a little bit about Evanna, saying, "I've done many scenes with [her], and I'll be filming with [her] tomorrow. She's really, really sweet - really nice. She's just the biggest Harry Potter fan in the world. She loves being on the set. She was a little bit nervous at first being on the set - a little starstruck by all the surroundings and meeting some of the cast - but she's really settled in well."

Emma also exclaims Newsround about Evanna's personality. "I have to say - she is Luna - she is literally Luna! I can't tell the difference between on camera or off camera!"

Matthew Lewis

In an interview with PotterCast, Matthew Lewis, who plays Neville Longbottom, commented on Evanna. "Oh, yeah, Evanna. She’s really, really sweet. Quite quiet. She plays the character incredibly well, I mean, it’s her. You know, it really is. She’s really, really nice, great to get on with and she’s fit in really well. She’s made plenty of friends and I don’t think anyone would have a bad word to say about her really."

Afshan Azad

Costume Director Jany Temime

Costume Director, Jany Temime, and her department had hired several jewelry designers to make Luna Lovegood's famous radish earrings, but Evanna made her own. "And they were better!" said Jany Temime in an article in USA Weekend. "More artsy-craftsy, more like what a creative young girl would do. The stuff we had was too professional. So we used hers."

Producer David Heyman

In a three-page spread on OotP in the magazine Empire, Heyman, longtime producer of the Harry Potter movies, praised Evanna as Luna: "She's an obsessive Potter fan who'd actually had correspondence with Jo Rowling. When she was cast Jo rang me up because she just couldn't believe it - from her letters she said, 'She is Luna.'" You can see scans of the article here in MuggleNet's gallery.
